If you’re looking at co-living for the first time, start with a simple question: what comes with the room? Our first house isn’t open yet, but here’s what each Gladewood room will include. It's more than you'd expect from a single monthly rent payment.
What's included
- Furnished bedroom. Every room will come with a bed, a desk and chair, and closet or storage space, so you can bring your bags and settle in with no truck and no assembly required.
- Utilities included. Electricity, water, sewer, gas, and trash will be built into your monthly rent, so you make one payment with no surprise bills.
- Fiber Wi-Fi. Fiber internet will run throughout the house and be active before you move in.
- Keyless locks. Digital locks will secure the front door and every bedroom, with 24/7 access and no curfew.
- In-house laundry. A washer and dryer in the house will be included in your rent.
- Shared community spaces. A shared kitchen with your own assigned fridge and pantry space, plus a furnished living and dining area, will give you room to cook, unwind, or spend time with housemates when you want to, and your own room is there when you don't.
What you'll still want to bring
Furnished doesn't mean fully stocked; a few things are worth packing or picking up after you move in:
- Bedding, towels, and personal linens
- Everyday cookware and dishes for the shared kitchen
- Toiletries and personal care items
- Any specific furniture preferences beyond what's provided (a reading lamp, a specific desk chair, and so on)
- Personal decor if you want to make the room feel more like yours
The idea behind it
The idea is a furnished room, private or shared, in a house where utilities, internet, and laundry will be set up before you arrive. Private rooms will run $850–$1,100 a month and shared rooms $550–$650, all-inclusive. One number covers all of it.
